• Geld 131tl MW 3tam Water Managee~t Plan Odeber Z4, 1995
covered with a high density polyethylene liner. The entire pond area has been lined with
a thirty mil polyethylene liner. Excess water from storm runoff is decerrted from the
pond through risers on a decant line that sits above the tailings sand. The water drains
through a PVC discharge pipe that goes into en old mine tunnel (Hazel A) that is
bulkheaded near the portal. The storm runoff water is recycled from the storage in the
tunnel to the mill to be used as process water makeup. Excess grotmdweter end storm.
water stored in the Hazel A is pumped back to the tailings{ pond for evaporation.
The following areas are subject to the SWMP guidelines (stormwater):
• Area 3 -The arts above the tailings pond (Area 2), between Areas 2 end 5 is used for
storage of mill ma;.,~'.,•.,ce equipment Drainage fra~m this area is duetted by a berm
and ditch into the sediment trap in Area 4.
Area 4 -The area to the northwest of the mill building that commingles with nmoff water
from the east side of the mill building roof and water from the road on the east side of the
mill building. Storm water is collected in a sediment trap that is locetod at the bottom of
the roadway southeast of the tailings pond Any overflow goes overland and eventually
may go into Cash Gulch
• Area 5 -An undisturbed area which has all storm water drainage directed into a ditch
above Arse 3 and around the northeast side of the tailings pond The water is directed
into a small swale and into the Cash Gulch drainage.
3. Storm water cars fitter through the ore and
come out the bottom discharge of the bins. There is a potential for developing acid water and
piclang up heavy metals and suspended solids in the discharge.
