-21 <br />The applicant has co7mnitted to the collection of a year's complete monitoring <br />data from the Bear No. 3 alluvial wells in order to monitor the effects of mining <br />on the hydrologic balance. To find Bear Coal Company in conformance with <br />Rules 2. 05.6(3)(b)(iii) and 4.05.13(1), and to specify the appropriate monitoring <br />requirements, the following stipulation is included. <br />STIPULATION NO. 5 <br />BEAR COAL COMPANY SHALL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE TXREE NORTH FORK ALLUVIAL <br />WELLS TO MONITOR THE EFFECTS OF MINING ON ALLWIAL GROUND WATER. THIS <br />MONITORING SHALL INCLUDE MONTHLY MONITORING OF GROUND WATER LEVELS, pH, <br />TEMPERATURE AND ELECTRO-CONDUCTIVITY. ON A QUARTERLY BASIS, GROUND WATER <br />QUALITY ANALYSES SHALL BE RUN ON SAMPLES COLLECTED FROM THESE ALLWIAL WELLS. <br />THE WATER QUALITY SAMPLES SHALL BE ANALYZED FOR THOSE PARAMETERS IN ATTACHMENT <br />2 OF THIS DOCUMENT. ALL DATA SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE DIVISION WITHIN ONE <br />MONTH OF THE DATA COLLECTION. THE DIVISION MAY REDUCE THE FREQUENCY OF <br />ANALYSIS, THE NUMBER OF PARAMETERS ANALYZED, AND THE NUMBER OF WELLS <br />MONITORED UPON COMPLETION OF ONE YEAR's COLLECTION OF DATA. <br />All of the ground water concerns raised during the permit review have been <br />satisfactorily resolved and the proposed operation is in compliance with the <br />requirements of this secfrion. <br />
