The erosion condition composite SSF score for
this area was 36, which placed it in the Slight erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey
are shown in Table 11. The area was seeded in late 1996. Several gullies exist on vazious
portions of this block including: the northwestern most edge; the central upper and lower portion
exiting into die Moffat final drainage channel and Downdrain 4 where a system of gullies occur
at each location; along the westem edge of the reclaimed Middle Moffat Haul road in the vicinity
of Downdrain 2; the south facing edge of the out-of--pit spoils, and; along the western edge of the
reclaimed shoulder of the narrowed Lower Moffat Road. All of the gullies noted will be
regraded and the areas seeded. Additionally, water bar like structures will be constructed in azeas
that appear to be water collection zones.
Table 11: Moffat Area Block 10 Erosion Condition Classification
Possible
Item Score 1997 1996 1995 1993 1992
Soil Movement 14 3
Surface Litter 14 0
Surface Rock Fragments 14 3
Pedestalling 14 0
Flow Patterns 15 6
Rills 14 9
Gullies 15 15
Total 100 36
Erosion Condition Classification: Slight
