The tabulated results for this survey are shown in Table 9. This area was
seeded in 1995 after the annual erosion inventory. The young vegetation is helping to control
erosion. Tlie bottom area of this block contains some rills and gullies, but most have vegetation
on the sides and bottom. One gully system that exists just south of Downdrain 4 is active and
will require corrective measures consisting of grading in the gully system and reseeding the area.
Table 9: Moffat Area Block 8 Erosion Condition Classification
Possible
Item Score 1997 1996 1995 1993 1992
Soil Movement 14 3 3 8
Surface Litter 14 3 3 3
Surface Rock Fragments 14 0 0 2
Pedestalling 14 0 0 0
Flow Patterns 15 3 6 12
Rills 14 8 8 9
Gullies 15 6 4 9
Total 100 25 24 43
Erosion Condition Classification: Slight Slight Moderate
Block 9
The erosion condition composite SSF score for this site was 24, which places it in the
Slight erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are shown in Table 10. Gullies exist in
the upper southern portion of the block resulting from gully activity in Block 10 along the
narrowed Lower Moffat Road. Additionally, the spoil springs in this block have caused a system
of gullies. Corrective measures in this block include repairing the gullies in the upper portions of
the block with a dozer and reseeding. The gullies associated with the springs will be repaired
and a collection ditch system will be installed to route the spring discharge [o the existing
drainage system in anon-erosive fashion.
