The <br />various life forms will be clipped, oven dried, and weighed to the nearest .O1 <br />gram. The Division proposes to approve of these techniques (4.15.7(1)). <br />3. Comparisons between reclaimed and undisturbed azeas, in order to demonstrate <br />that success criteria of 4.15.8, 4.15.9, or 4.15.10 have been met, will be based on <br />the following: <br />Success of revegetation with respect to herbaceous cover and production would be <br />•, based on direct reference area comparisons for pastureland. The species diversity <br />standard would require that at least four species make up 64 percent of the <br />/\~_.~ relative cover, with no single species contributing in excess of 75 percent relative <br />` ~ ~,•yq~ cover. Post-mining Land Use <br />The post-mining land use is pastureland to support the <br />activities of cattle grazing. <br />1. The Division has approved an alternative land use for portions of the <br />permit area. The alternative land use is pastureland as opposed to the <br />originally proposed use of rangeland. These areas are cleazly defined on <br />Map 63 of the currently approved permit. This alternative land-use meets <br />the criteria of Rule 4.16.3. <br />XII. Protection of Fish, Wildlife and Related Environmental <br />Values <br />Fish and wildlife habitat is a planned post-mining land use. The applicant has selected <br />appropriate plant species and distributions to benefit fish and wildlife. (4.18(4)(1)). <br />XIV. Protection of Underground Minine <br />The Division proposes to approve surface coal mining activities being conducted within <br />500 feet of an active or abandoned underground mine. This approval is proposed based <br />on the fact that approval for such has been granted by MSHA and Colorado Division of <br />2a <br />
