Excavator time is expected to perform bench
recomom-ingand pu}t back for s}ope ahgrunents wit}r surrrounding topograpiry as we}I as site hydrologic contra} work,
and other machine work as directed. Equipment Rental will be in accordance to specifications (19.0) in the General Bid
Specifications, 1946. Equipment time will start as directed- by the PROJECT MANAGER from the bench }oca;ion.
Measurement and Payment
Paymentforthistask wi}} bereflected urtderAdditiveAlternatehcm- } of the Bid Schedule as an hourlyrate-for a C,AT
320BL or equivalent excavator and operator. Bid hourly rate shall reflect the CONTRACTORS estimate for equipment
and persomie} costs per hour to compete t}re-task. Measurement wi}1 be actual hours required to compete work as
directed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER.
ADDITIVE AI.TERNATEITEMZ - WEST SLOPE REVEGET:~STION
An approximate 0.5 acre area of downcast mixed- soil anct shatey material- exists from a macl cut as shown in the field.
The azea is at an angle of repose (1.5:1). Forty (40) bales of mulch, supplied by the OWNER, will first be distributed
over the area to be worked. Once an area has had mulch everdy disriibuted; the surface will be manipulated- by hand
using a Macleod fire Rake, or equivalent as approved by the PROJECT MANAGER, to provide small seeding contour
farrowsor benches: Furrows willbe constructed so that the dimensions are no less than-12" in width perpendiar}~r to
the slope with an 8" depth. Furrows will be spaced no further apart than 3' center to center, horizontally (across the
slope}amt vertically(ap and down the slope): The entire approximate O. f acre azea witl be treated first with the m}rlch
distribution and then with the mechanical surface procedure by hand. The result is to not only create furrows for seeding
but also to partially ineorporatethe mulek Work will proceed at the tag of the slope to bottom and from side to side
to minimize filling of the furrows by sloughing upslope material. After the initial mulching and surface treatment has
been performed, the entire area will be fertilized witk BIOSOL '3:2-.3 fertilizer which can be-obtained from Rocky
Mountain Bio-Products, Inc., Edwards, Colorado, phone 970/926-1025. The fertilizer will be evenly applied at agate
of 1,500 pounds per acre (750 pounds will be needed). After fertilizer application, seeding will be performed with seed
supplied by the OWNER.
Measurement and Payment
Payment for this item will be reflected in a lump sum bid under Additive Alternate 2 on the bid schedule. This lump sum
bid will cover payment of all costs for mulching, hand furrow construction, fertililizing (including supplying BIOSOL
fertilizer), and seeding. These revegetation procedures will be performed on the delineated approximate 0.5 acre area
as shown in the field. There will be no measurement for payment. Payment shall be as this item is completed and
approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. Payment for this item will be made only for that amount shown under
Additive Alternate Item 2 of the Bid Schedule. Any or all incidental costs incurred by the CONTRACTOR shall be
reflected in each Bid Item or shall be paid at the CONTRACTOR'S expense.
ADDITIVE ALTERNATE ITEM 3 - REVEGETATION
All other areas disturbed and/or compacted during channel construction work will be revegetated according to the
Revegetation Specifications (20.0} in the Genera} Bid Specifications. Commercial Pertllizer OR manure may be used
for this project. Seed will be supplied by the OWNER. Revegetation work will be initiated immediately upon
completion of all excavation and regrading work. Revegetation may be completed concurrent to completed AND
