It is assumed that
the terrace location will be used for excavated material from the lower portion of the drainage course construction. Prior
to depositing excavated material at either the terracelocation or against the excavated bench cuts, existing vegetation
and soils to a 24" depth-will be graded. off and stockpiled. Final grade at the terrace location once hauling has been
completed will not exceed a 3:1 slope in any direction. Stockpiled vegetation and soils will be evenly redistributed over
the deposited material from drainage. course construction upon completion of earthmoving procedures.
If any trash is encountered during excavation for channel construction, trash will be hauled off to the nearest County
approved landfill-site.
Measurement and Payment
No unitmeasurement for payment will be madefor Item 2. A lump-sum bid for drainage construction will be reflected
under Item 2 of the Bid Schedule. The drainage will be
constructed according to the attached Drawing 1, Drainage Course Cross Section WITHOUT the riprap requirements.
Check dams will be contracted at 50' imervals from with riprap per attached Drawing 1. Check dam riprap, available
on-site, will consist of an everily distributed combination of 60% minimum 4' diameter rockriprap, 20% 2' to 4' diameter
rock and 20% 12" to 18" rock. The 4' diameter rock will be keyed imo the bottom of the constructed- 3: t channel
through excavation placement to a depth between 18" and 24". The check dam will be 6' in slope length constructed
the eat'se width ofthechannel. Side slopes to the constnrcted charmek will be at a maximum 3:1 scope. Pasitive drainage
will be maintained from the bench cut to the east, into the drainage channel.
A~faterial as a resuh of drainage- course construction maybe excavated and hauled to or graded- against the excavated
bench cuts.
