The drainage will be constructed according to the attached
Drawing 1, Drainage Course Cross Section. The bottom of the drainage course will be lined with riprap. Riprap,
available on-site, will consist of an evenly distributed combination of 60% minimum 4' diameter rock, 20% 2' to 3'
diameter rock and 20% 12" to 18" rock The 4' diameter rock will be keyed 'into the bottom of the constructed 3:1
chaunel through excavation placement to a depth between 18" and 24". Placement will be from the lowest portions
progressing upslope. The ditch depth will be 4' with a minimum 30" depth of riprap lining the channel. Side slopes to
the constructed channel will be at a maximum 3:1 slope. Side slope riprap will consist of an evenly distributed
combination of 75% minimum 24" diameter rock and 25% 12" to 18" diameter rock. Side slope riprap will extend up
the sides of the constructed channel to a minimum 24" height. Contour furrows which aze elitninated as a resuh of
drainage construction writ be reconstructed to tie into the drainage course, parallel to contour. (Note: the initial method
of contour fiurow construction was by the downward blade action from a smaller dozer which was facing downslope,
progressing up slope towards the bench.)
The highly eroded drainage galley which exists downslope from the staked location to the slope break at the base of
the grade will also be constructed to conform to Drawing 1, Drainage Course Cross Section.
Material as a result of drainage course construction maybe excavated and hauled to a terrace location located to the
