<br />RESOLUTION NO. 1993-55 <br />Page 2 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to §29-20-101, et. seq. C.R.S., in addition to the authority <br />above referenced the La Plata County Permit System and Appendices may regulate the use <br />of land by regulating development and activities within hazardous areas, protecting significant <br />wildlife habitat, preserving historical and archaeological areas, regulating the establishment <br />of roads on public lands, regulating the location of activities and developments which may <br />result in significant changes in population density, providing for phased development of <br />services and facilities, regulating the use of land on the basis of the impact thereof on the <br />community and surrounding areas, and otherwise planning for and regulating the use of land <br />so as to provide planned and orderly use of land and protection of the environment in a <br />manner consistent with constitutional rights; and <br />WHEREAS, the County also has authority pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes to <br />regulate certain substantive matters which may also be addressed through land use <br />regulations; and <br />WHEREAS, §30-28-116, C.R.S., authorizes Counties to amend land use regulations <br />from time to time; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners hereby find and declare that the <br />Animas Valley Land Use Plan and Map should be numbered to be Appendix No. 10 to the <br />La Plata County Permit System to conform to the format thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, based upon the evidence presented, <br />hereby finds and declares that it is in the best interests of the public health, safety and welfare <br />that the above referenced and certified matters be adopted. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF LA PLATA COUNTY, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS: <br />That Section 2.0 of the La Plata County Permit System is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br />"A. ESTABLISHMENT OF DISTRICTS <br />The unincorporated area of La Plata County shall be divided into and <br />designated as districts. The boundaries of development districts are <br />hereby established as shown on maps entitled "Official Development <br />District Map of La Plata County, Colorado," dated 1993. This <br />document shall be a part of both the Permit System and the <br />Comprehensive Land Use Plan. <br />
