On the east side of Academy, it is a different matter. There is a
• considerable amount of sail available on this site. It is recommended
that sail be salvaged to the depth where the color changes from dart: to
light. This zone is apparent and well defined. Using this
method essentially all the hest soil will he saved and the much worse
subsoil avoided. An actual depth cannot be stated because it tends to
vary throughout the site. But for calculation purposes, an average of
five inches is considered a working figure. In the higher areas this
figure may drop to ~ to 4 inches while in the mare protected areas it
could be as much as 12 inches. But if the darF: to light boundary is
used, essentially all will he saved.
It is not recommended that any soil from the east side of Academy
be hauled to the sail deficient west
much greater surplus of sail than is
• expected, but if there is a surplus
Academy. It is anticipated that all
of Academy will he needed to topsail
side of Academy, unless there is a
expected. In fact, no surplus is
it could be used on the west side of
the soil salvaged on the east side
that area.

F'AGE 9 ^F.9 - EXHIBIT I
