into the Sand Pit area in order to merge the two operatic` the
same elevation as the existing settl he Daniel's S t
• area. This process will occur rather slowly and will therefore allow
~----~~
sufficient time far the establishment of stability in the back:filled
waste material.
The ridge just to the south of the processing plant will be removed
along with a slope reduction and removal along Academy Boulevard to the
north of the processing site. This will help with possible future
access as well as improve the sometimes difficult maintenance process
along Academy Boulevard.
EAST OF ACADEMY BOULEVARD:
---- -- ------- ----------
The slopes along Academy from the area of the present ditch
crossing southward will be reduced or eliminated. This will improve
future access and visibility of the site making it mare attractive far
• construction. Slopes into the pit will be rather gradual being, at most
2.5:1 and mast generally in the range of 3:1 to 5:1. Also, 6y reducing
the highway slopes it helps to create a more favorable slope length thus
helping to increase the revegtation potential.
The linkage between Phase Ie and IIe will occur by mining the sand
under the existing ditch and either piping the ditch across the gap as
occurs currently on Academy Boulevard ar the ditch will be moved to
another location. The latter is preferred. The sand under the ditch is
in Phase Ve which is the last phase to he mined, This will providg
sufficient tiee far decisions to be made as to what to do with the
ditch.
In the northeastern corner of the Fhase IIe area is a large fill
similar tm what will 6e done to the Sand Pit area on the west side of
. Academy. This fill will he made of processing wastes. Its location and
F'AGE 4 OF 14 - EXHIBIT E
