• The underground reservoir was constructed adjacent to pond 9-P2.
Prior to construction, approximately 22 yards of topsoil was removed
from the site and stockpiled for future reclamation work. The topsoil
salvaged is in the Turret series (mapping unit 60B) and approximately 18
inches of good topsoil is available. The reader is referred to Appendix
III-9 fora discussion of the suitability of this soil as a plant growth
media. A pit was excavated and a large diameter culvert was placed in
the pit. A trench was excavated and a water line was laid from the
culvert into the pond. The trench was backfilled and will be seeded in
the fali with the rangeland/wildlife habitat seed mixture.
A pump house will be constructed over the culvert, red rock will be
• placed around the pump house to provide suitable access during the year,
the house will provide easier maintenance of the pump and year-round
access to the pump. The fresh water line will lead from the pump house
up to the storage tank.
Due to the smal 1 amount of topsoi 1 and subsoi 1 stockpi 1 ed at the
site, a variance is requested from the sediment control requirements
contained in Rule 4.05.5. Hay bales will be placed around the top of
the stockpile until adequate vegetative cover is established en the
stockpile. This will minimize the amount of sediment running off of the
piles unto adjacent land.
The water line will be laid through a reference area fora portion
of its length. The line will be laid on existing roads where it passes
• through the reference area. In other areas, the line will be laid along
the existing road whenever possible. Rubber-tired trucks will be used
to lay the line and disturbance should be minimal.
(P.EV. 12/13;83) IV-44g
