Section IV -Decision to Require Revisions
As a result of this midterm review, the Division will require revision(s) of the permit application package
to address the following concerns with the currently approved Meadows No. 1 Mine permit. The revision
will be due to be received by the Division on or before April 8, 1996.
1. Section 2.03.4, page 4 - If Technical Revision No. 19 (TR 19) is approved, the legal description of
the permit area will no longer be accurate. Please update the description to exclude the facilities
area.
2. Section 2.03.4, page 5 -With the approval of TR 19, the subsurface ownership information will not
be accurate. Please update that section.
3. Section 2.03.4, page 5 -Please update the permit renewal and issuance dates to include the 1993
renewal.
4. Section 2.03.4, page 6 -The top of this page does not coincide with the bottom of page 5, and the
ownership and control information at the bottom of page 6 is incorrect. Please review and revise
this entire page.
5. Section 2.03.4, page 7 -Ownership and control information provided is out of date. This page was
not replaced with the last update. Please update this page.
6. Section 2.03.4, in its entirety, has inconsistent page numbering. Please provide the Division with
recopied and renumbered pages for this section.
7. Section 2.03.5, page 8 -Please update the compliance information, over the last three years, for Sun
Coal Company.
8. Section 2.04.3, page 48 -With the approval of TR 19, the permit boundary description and
estimated permitted acreage will no longer be correct. Please update this page.
9. Section 2.05.3, page 181 -This page states that Sun Coal Company will inspect the haul road on
a monthly basis. This should be revised, since the Sun Coal Company is no longer liable for the
road.
10. Section 2.05.3, page 192 -Please update this page to describe the current conditions of and
reclamation plans for the Northwest and Southeast sediment traps.
11. Section 2.05.4, page 319 -Please update this section to describe the current conditions of and
reclamation plans for the contour furrows on the reclaimed pit.
12. Section 2.05.4, page 336 -Please revise this page to include all revegetation monitoring do date.
