UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR <br />BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT <br />UNCOMPAHGRE FIELD OFFICE <br />2505 SOUTH TOWNSEND <br />MONTROSE, COLORADO 81401 <br />In Reply Refer To: <br />CO-150(DD) <br />3400 <br />OCT 2 9 2005 <br />Memorandum <br />To: Henry Austin, DOVOSM Senior Reclamation Specialist <br />From: Manager, Uncompaghre Field Oflice (UFO) <br />Subject: West EIk Mine -Phase One Bond Release for Permit C-80-007 <br />In response to the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) Findings of Compliance and Proposed <br />Decision for Phase One Bond Release (SL-1) dated October 14, 2005, we agree with the DMG findings and <br />proposed decision. <br />BLM understands that the unreleased poRion of the bond is sufficient to cover reclamation that remains to be <br />completed in conjunction with permit C-80-007. <br />BLM is aware that representatives ofthe U.S. Forest Service, the manager of federal lands in the bond release <br />area, were present on the Bond Release Inspection on October 7, 2004.
