4. A total of no more than 12 acres of quarry will be
exposed at any one time throughout the life of this
quarry. This 12 acres exposure occurs only at year 13.
Normal disturbed area for the Weaver Quarry will be 5
acres. Future stockpiling will be done in the pit to
minimize visibility from the surrounding area. As shown
on the mine plan map, the quarry will advance in a
northerly direction until it reaches the quarry
boundary- Then the quarry will progress south until it
reaches the final southern boundary.
5. Reclamation of the Weaver quarry will proceed directly
behind the advancing quarry. The overburden stripped
from the current years mining will be used on the
previous years mining area for grading and providing a
topsoil substitute- Highwalla on the north, west, and
south will be reduced to a 2 to 1 elope by reclamation
blasting and covered with 6"-10" of topsoil substitute
and then by topsoil that has been previously stockpiled.
6. Seeding of the reclaimed area will be done by
hydro-seeding. Seed mixtures, fertilization rates. and
any other recommended additives by the SCS will be
followed. The application rate of mountain mahogany may
be increased to ensure a proper distribution of this
species on the reclaimed areas- The success of this
species is very important to the visual impact of the
reclaimed area blending in with the natural surrounding
area.
7. Mulching of the newly seeded areas will be done by
hydro-mulching and the use of a tackifier at a rate of 3
tons of grass hay per acre.
B. The reclaimed quarry area will be compatible with the
surrounding area and will be usable as marginal
rangeland that should be capable of supporting at least
the same quantity and quality of vegetation.
9. The access road from the existing ranch road on the
Weaver Ranch property will remain as an accese road to
the Pete Lien & Sona, Inc. property. Pete Lien & Sons
Inc- has an easement for access to this property.
