r Bradford Janes - 6 - February 2, 1990
' Exhibit J -Vegetation Information
1. Rule 2.1.2(11)(a) requires descriptions of present vegetation types,
which include quantitative estimate of cover and height for the principal
species in each lifeform represented (i.e. trees, tall shrubs, low
' shrubs, grasses, fortis). This information must be presented.
Exhibit L -Reclamation Costs
' 1. Final Reclamation Costs need further detail. Exhibit L estimates for
grass seed mix are 525.00. The latest available costs (1989) are
E38.00/acre, while costs for MLRD's recommended mix are estimated at
t about S90/acre.
2. All other estimated costs appear reasonable with the exception of the
estimate of the spreading of 22,000 yd3 of overburden per 30 acres.
This figure would yield less than a 3 feet depth of material on the
regraded area. Is this adequate to achieve the proposed final reclaimed
topography? Amore detailed demonstration of the amount of material
' required to achieve the final topography and an explanation of how the
volume figures were arrived at is needed. It should also be noted that
the adequacy of the overburden distribution and topsoil replacement costs
are extremely dependent upon the anticipated haul and push distances.
Actual site conditions should not exceed the 500 feet haul or 200 feet
push distances so that the validity of the cost estimate is ensured.
' General
1. All maps must be prepared and signed by a registered land surveyor,
' professional engineer, or other qualified person (C.R.S. 34-32-112(4)(a)
and Rule 2.1.2(1)(b)).
' 2. Please provide all information detailed in Rule 2.1.1(18).
3. You must provide proof of notice to owners of significant, valuable, and
permanent man-made structures within 200 feet of the affected lands and
proof of notice to all surface right leaseholders, surface landowners,
and adjacent landowners that may be affected by the mining operation.

LJ
3713E/scg
