Colowyo has operated in this
area since 1982. Because the proposed permit does not change the
scope, areas, or current ongoing operations, we do not anticipate
any additional adverse affects on fish and wildlife or the
surrounding habitat during the next five years.
If Colowyo Coal is glanning on using the postmined lands for
wildlife habitat, we would be happy to help evaluate the amount of
woody plant stocking levels, planting arrangements needed. We
could address all options and methods for mitigating potential
adverse impacts. Please let us know if assistance is needed.
I would like to thank you for the opportunity to comment on the
proposed mining operation in this area. Please do not hesitate to
contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Bill de Vergie
District wildlife Manager
PO Box 1181
Meeker, CO. 81641
(970) 878-4493
cc: Dan Pren2low
Chuck Woodward
Bill Clark
DEPARTMENT QF NATURAL RESOURCES.
