<br />Trapper Mining Inc Proposes [o Retain Twenty-Five Ponds for use as Livestock and Wildlife Water Sources
<br />Dear Mr. Ernst:
<br />The Division of Minerals and Geolo),ry hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4,
<br />of [he Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 18, 2005, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Trapper
<br />Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Trapper Mining Inc.. All review and
<br />comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing.
<br />The operator proposed to leave twenty-five ponds as permanent structures. These ponds would provide water for livestock and
<br />wildlife and would support the post-mining land-use of Rangeland. The following ponds aze proposed for retention: No Name
<br />#2, 4, and 5, Johnson 6, 7R, 8R, 9R, and IOR, West Pyeatt 1 and 2, East Pyeatt 1, 2, and 3, Grouse 1 and 2, Oak land 1 and 2;
<br />West Flume 1, Middle Flume 1, East Middle Flume 1, East Flume 1, Deer 1, Ute 1, Horse Gulch I.
<br />The Surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 6 miles South of Craig, Colorado. The permit azea is
<br />further described as follows:
<br />Portions of Sections 1, 2, and 3, Township 5 North, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M.
<br />Portions of Sections 30 and 31, Township 6th North, Range 90 West of the 6th P.M.
<br />Portions of Sections Z5, 26, 28, 33, 34, 35, and 36, Township 6 North, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M.
<br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Castor Gulch.
<br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper [hat this application has been deemed complete. At the time of
<br />publication of [his notice, [he applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Moffat County
<br />Courthouse, 221 W Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide

<br />(303) 866-3562 In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen
<br />(15) days of this letter. If no comments are received by then, we will proceed on the assumption that you have no concerns
<br />with, or objections to, the applicant's proposal.
