Cattany <br />Craig, CO 8162$ Division Director <br /> Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: Trapper Mine (Permit No. C-1981-010) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 94 (TR-94) <br />Trapper Mining Inc Proposes to Retain Twenty-Five Ponds for use as Livestock and Wildlife Water Sources <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Pazagraph 4, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, tltat on February 18, 200$, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Trapper <br />Mine was considered complete for dte purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Trapper Mining Inc.. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The operator proposed to leave twenty-five ponds as permanent structures. These ponds would provide water for livestock and <br />wildlife and would support the post-training land-use of Rangeland. The following ponds are proposed for retention: No Name <br />#2, 4, and $, Johnson 6, 7R, 8R, 9R; and lOR, West Pyeatt 1 and 2, East Pyeatt 1, 2, and 3, Grouse 1 and 2, Oak land 1 and 2; <br />West Flume 1, Middle Flume 1, East Middle Flutne 1, East Flume 1, Deer 1, Ute 1, Horse Gulch 1. <br />The Surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 6 miles South of Craig, Colorado. The permit azea is <br />further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 1, 2, and 3, Township 5 North, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Portions of Sections 30 and 31, Township 6th North, Range 90 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Portions of Sections 25, 26, 28, 33, 34, 35, and 36, Township 6 North, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Castor Gulch. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. A[ the time of <br />publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Moffat County <br />Courthouse, 221 W Victory Way, Craig, CO 8162$, and at the Division office. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen <br />(IS) days of this letter.
