Rationale
Bowie Resources Limited recognizes the need to adjust the hydrologic monitoring plan for the
Bowie No. l Mine.
This technical revision includes changes to:
Volume 1, Tab 2.05,
Pages 118, 119, 122, 123
Volume 4, Tab Surface Water
Table 1, Surface Water Monitoring Stations-Streams
Table 2, Surface Water Monitoring Stations-Ponds
Volume 4, Tab Ground Water
Table 3, Ground Water Monitoring Stations-Springs
Table 4B, Ground Water Monitoring Stations-Wells
Text on Volume 1, Tab 2.05 pages 118, 119, 122, and 123 has changed to reflect;
The absence of mining projections for Bowie No. 1 Mine
The removal of references to 90°Weir Plates from SW-5 and SW-6 monitoring
points.
Statements concerning "current monitoring" have been moved to "past
monitoring" sections of the text.
Several instances of "as" have been changed to "if'
The plan will be adjusted according to the following factors:
Mining operations have ceased at the Bowie No. 1 Mine, with no coal extraction for over
2.5 yeazs. Extensive data has been collected from all monitored locations. Bowie
Resources Limited will suspend the hydrologic monitoring of points that have been
affected only by the horizontal and vertical projection of completed mining until the final
three yeazs of the bond liability period.
Deep monitoring wells associated with the western portion of the mine have failed during
the last 3 yeazs. These wells aze no longer monitored because they can no longer be
probed to produce any meaningful information, and the mining associated with these
wells has ceased.
3. Several points monitored by the Bowie No. 1 Mine are well beyond the angle of draw for
the sealed workings of the Bowie No. i Mine and with no future mining projections have
become unnecessary.
