information prior to February 21, 2006 or commit to submittal of such information in the form of
a technical revision to Permit M-1983-141within 30 days of the decision date of this amendment
and secure approval of such revision within 60 days of the decision date of this amendment.
Please respond.
8. In conformance with Rule 6.3.3(1)(1), please provide a characterization of the ambient
groundwater quality within the Cash Mine and surrounding area. (The Applicant may also want
to include neazby up-gradient sources aswell asdown-gradient sources, and delineate areas
within the mine according to good, fair, and poor quality groundwater). The chazacterization
should be based on existing data, ie: water quality samples, as much as possible. Finally, the
Applicant will need to demonstrate at least five (5) quarters worth of "baseline groundwater
quality samples" representative of water within the mine. The Applicant should include a
discussion of which samples of the available data set will be used to determine "ambient
groundwater quality" within the Cash Mine, how many quarters worth of baseline data they
represent, and the timing for collection of remaining quarters of baseline data. If MRV
anticipates on-going collection of baseline water quality data during future development or
production activities, then MRV will need to discuss how they will be able to conduct their
operations in such a way as to collect water quality data representative ofnon-disturbed
conditions. Please respond.
9. In conformance with Rule 6.3.3(1)(1), MRV has discussed providing a water monitoring plan
to verify that future mining operations have minimized any potential impacts to surface and
groundwater quantity and quality at the Cash Mine, Who Do Mine, & Mount Royale Mine and
surrounding areas. For the purposes of this amendment application, MRV may provide all
requested details of such plan prior to February 21, 2006 or may commit to submittal of such
plan in the form of a technical revision to permit M-1983-141 permit within 30 days of the
decision date of this amendment application and secure approval of such revision within 60 days
of the decision date of this application. The water monitoring plan must include, but not be
limited to, the components listed below. Please respond.
Map showing the locations of all surface water & groundwater monitoring stations.
Plan for measuring static groundwater levels & determination of groundwater gradient.
List of water quality pazameters to be monitored.
Frequency & duration of monitoring.
Reporting of results to the Division.
6.3.4 EXHIBIT D - Reclamatiom Plan
16a. In conformance with Rule 6.3.4(2), MRV will need to provide sufficient design details, as
deemed necessary by the Division, in order to calculate an "interim" reclamation cost for the two
(2) hydraulic seals planned for installation within Mount Royale Adit #1 during final
reclamation. As an alternative, MRV may provide design details and itemized reclamation cost
information for these hydraulic seals prior to February 21, 2006. For further details, MRV is
encouraged to discuss with Allen Sorenson of the Division. Please respond.
