These willows will provide additional visual
barriers, habitat values, erosion protection, as well as
additional biotechnical stabilization for the base of the
embanl~ent .
5. The access roads shall be designed such that the surface of
the roads in the vicinity of the streams and wetlands can be
treated with material which will prevent mud and silt from
entering the streams. It is anticipated that the roadway surface
may be paved or chemically treated to minimise displacement of
soil particles.
6 The gravel-laden material to be mined exists as a large mound
adjacent to both the tributary and main stream, including
wetlands associated with these streams. The mining of the
material shall also be accomplished in a manner where such
material will not be inadvertently displaced or washed into the
nearby streams or wetlands_ In some locations, a reinforced and
properly placed silt Fence should help achieve this objective.
This verification is valid until February 22, 2005.
