•
Item J-9a: Haul 6500 c.y. of colluvial growth medium to various locations on the
north tailings ponds.
The original colluvium stockpile volume was estimated at 8,500 cubic yards (by others).
Camp Bird Colorado, Inc. had proposed utilizing the entire volume of colluvial material to
establish a growth medium on the north tailings ponds. This was accomplished in entirety;
however, volumes exceeded what was proposed. In actuality, Camp Bird Colorado, Inc.
placed an estimated 4,195 and 8,076 cubic yards of colluvium on the NE and NW tailings
ponds, respectively. On average, depth of colluvium established was approximately 6-
inches. Refer to photographs 1-A through 1-D and photographs 2-A and 2-B, Appendix A.
Division Calculated Bond Amount: $7,995.00
Bond Release Request Amount (100%): x7,995.00
Item J-9b: Spread 8000 c.y. of colluvial growth medium over the surface of the
north tailings ponds 6-inches depth.
This activity was completed as described in Item J-9a, above. Refer to photographs 1-A
through 1-D and photographs 2-A and 2-B, Appendix A.
Division Calculated Bond Amount: $2,346.00
Bond Release RequestAmount (100%): X2,346.00
Item K-11: Place gated 5' diameter CMP in portal and backfill around it. Lockable
gate, adequate for bat access when closed. Per IMP program.
In lieu of the CMP portal closure, Camp Bird Colorado, Inc. elected to install a locking steel
door comprised of welded steel stock with supplemental rebar cross members to preclude
unauthorized human entry yet allow bat access. The portal entry area was mucked out and
timbers installed/stabilized for an approximate 10 to 20 foot distance. (Note: Camp Bird
Colorado, Inc. is retaining trackage for purposes of potential future entry into the 14-level
adit).
Per comment/recommendation made by Mr. Steve Shuey on July 12, 1999, Camp Bird
Colorado, Inc. is completing additional measures at the portal area to further reduce the
potential for unauthorized entry. A heavy 2"x 6" wood lagging will be spiked over the
exposed bolt heads that anchor the door hinges to the timber set. In addition, steel strapping
will be extended from the door in by a distance of 6 to 8 feet and anchored to existing timber
sets to reduce the potential of unauthorized persons removing the door via winch cable.
Camp Bird Colorado, Inc. notes that unauthorized site entry would require persons to breach
the locking steel gate and cable tie features in place at the County Road 361 bridge prior to
Page 4 of 6
