(ii) A description of the size and location of each area to be reclaimed during each phase.
Concurrent reclamation is planned in this amendment in order to keep the bond
amount from increasing. The mining activities on the west and central areas of the site
have generally been completed and the operator will reclaim approximately 6 acres as
mining activities expand into the proposed 5.30 extension area to the north and
northeast.
The Concurrent Reclamation will occur in the west and central areas of the site as mining
expands into the proposed 5.30 extension area. Additional areas at the site will be
reclaimed as mining expands to the northeast side of the site as operational room permits.
All other disturbed areas will be reclaimed after the completion of all mining activities at
the site. Approximately 20 total acres will require reclamation. The 5.30 acre extension
area across the East-West Ridge-line will allow for more contoured slopes and reduce
remnant high-walls and steep slope areas. Attempts will be made during fmal mining
activities a[ the site to keep any 2:1 slopes to a minimum.
(iii) An outline of the sequence in which each stage or phase of reclamation will be
carried out.
(I) Topsoil stockpile stabilization (broadcast seeding) will occur on topsoil stockpiles left
longer than one growing season.
(2) After completion of all mining activities at the site remaining high-walls will be reduced
to 3: I or less (excepting some discrete 2:1 slopes already mentioned), the areas being
reclaimed will be ripped and graded.
(3) Topsoil will be placed at a minimum of 4-6 inches or more if extra soil is available
across all disturbed areas and seedbeds prepared, and the azeas seeded and
mulched/crimped.
(f) A description of the following:
(i) Final grading-specify maximum anticipated slope gradient or expected ranges
thereof.
The final grade of the pit floor and slopes aze planned to be at an approximate
average elevations of 6840 to 6980+ feet AMSL, Planned slopes into the pit floor
area will be at 3: ] to 10: I as shown on the Reclamation Plan Map -Exhibit F. The
gravel/cobble deposits being removed down to the Mancos and weathered shale the
final high-wall will be sloped to 3:1 or less (excepting some possible undisturbed or
steeper 5nal gravel/cobble deposit removal areas along the northern permit boundary
as shown on the abovementioned map) and otherwise reduced, areas ripped and
graded and topsoil placed from 4 to 6 inches (or more if available) across the entire
disturbed areas.
(ii) Seeding -specify types, mixtures, quantities, and expected time(s) of seeding and
planting.
Seed Mix -Species Variety PLS Rates per acre % Species in Mix PLS rate Species/ac
Drill B/cast
