DMG calculated the total reclamation liability for all 25 sites to be $16,723. DMG
allowed $8800 of this reclamation liability to be covered by the 13-site bond, and
required an additional $7923 in bond ($7923 is the amount on the MR-12 decision form).
Colowyo submitted a rider to the $8800 bond, increasing it by $7923 to $16,723.
MR-27 approved 13 "development" drill sites in the Wes[ Pit. We required no bond for
these 13 sites, as we apparently decided that the sites and holes would be reclaimed in
conjunction with the mining and reclamation of the West Pit expansion area.
MR-31 approved 4 coal exploration drill sites. We required $10,948 in bond. Colowyo
agreed, and requested the reclamation liability be covered by excess bond monies held by
DMG, which was done.
MR-34 approved 3 "in-pit coal quality" drill sites. We required $2643 in bond.
Colowyo agreed, and requested the reclamation liability be covered with excess bond
monies held by DMG, which was done. These three sites aze not in TR-50, but should be
added.
MR-35 approved 2 coal exploration drill sites and four ground water monitoring well
drill sites. All were to be located beyond the expected limits of any mining areas. We
required $5924 in bond for all 6 drill sites. Colowyo agreed, and requested the
reclamation liability be covered with excess bond monies held by DMG, which was done.
MR-40 approved 18 coal exploration drill sites. Twelve sites were not bonded, as they
were to be reclaimed through the mining and reclamation of the East and West Pits. The
remaining 6 sites were required to be bonded with $16,593 bond. Colowyo agreed, and
requested the reclamation liability be covered with excess bond monies held by DMG,
which was done.
MR-44 approved 12 coal exploration drill sites. Six sites were not bonded, as they were
to be reclaimed via the mining and reclamation of the East, Wes[, and Section 16 Pits.
The remaining 6 sites were required to be bonded with $]4,091. Colowyo agreed, and
,t \} requested the reclamation liability be covered with excess bond monies held by DMG,
\~ which was done.
Bond monies required by these MRs, added to the amount of the original 13-site
bond, comes to $66,922.
Adequacy items to be addressed:
The initial application should have requested a transfer of 71 borehole drilling
sites, rather than 70. Colowyo's list of borehole drilling sites in Table 1 should
have included site "10-89-6", shown on the TR-50 map in the SE SE of Section
10 as having a drilled hole on it.
