(Br) Broadmoor Series -- Representative Profile /G~/~ a .~.•- <br />i <br />O1 - 2 to 0 inches; partially decomposed organic material, <br />needles and twigs. <br />Al - 0 to 4 inches; brown (7.5YR 4/2) very gravelly sandy loam; <br />dark brown (7.SYR 3/2) moist; weak medium granular <br />structure; soft, friable, slightly sticky; 40 percent <br />gravel; slightly acid (pH 6.4); clear smooth boundary. (0 <br />to 4 inches thick) <br />A2 - 4 to 15 inches; brown (7.5YR 5/4) very gravelly sandy loam, <br />dark brown (7.SYR 4/4) moist; weak medium granular <br />structure; slightly hard, very friable; slightly sticky; 50 <br />percent gravel; slightly acid (pH 6.4); gradual smooth <br />boundary. (10 to 20 inches thick) <br />B2 - 15 to 23 inches; reddish gray (SYR 5/2) extremely gravelly <br />sandy loam, dark reddish gray (5YR 4/2) moist; weak medium <br />granular structure; slightly hard, very friable; 75 percent <br />gravel; neutral (pH 6.8); gradual smooth boundary. (7 to 25 <br />inches thick) <br />Cr - 23 inches; grus (highly weathered granite). <br />Thickness of the solum ranges from 20 to 40 inches. Coarse fragments <br />make up 35 to 80 percent of the solum. Reaction ranges from medium acid <br />through neutral. <br />The Al horizon, when present, is brown or dark brown very gravelly or <br />extremely gravelly sandy loam. The A2 horizon is light brown or brown very <br />gravelly or extremely gravelly sandy loam.
