' Excavation will begin at the northern most point of the mining area and
proceed in a southerly direction through the extent of the phase II
mining area. Excavation will commence at the toe of the slope of the
' terrace and continue at that relative elevation throughout the phase in
order to accomplish a gradient similar to the existing rate of slop e.
' As excavation commences and progresses along the slope, on the east side
of the mining area of phase II, the vegetation will be removed from the
mining area. ~~
' Customary sand and gravel excavation equipment will be used to mine,
including front end loaders, excavators, dozers, etc.
t Portions of the deposit will be removed and used as unprocessed
structural fill material. The remaining portion will be processed with
a portable crusher plant that will intermittently b ituated on the
' property. The crusher and gravel stockpiles will be 'tuated at various
locations within the phase as mining progresses.
' Access to phase II will primarily be through the area represented by
phase I. The greatest portion of the gravel will be removed from the
property via the haul road that has been constructed for the original
' operation. No additional structures for scales, etc, will be
constructed. It is ant cipated t a't some of the gravel may be removed
from phase II via the haul road that exits phase II at the south east
corner of the area, runs along the east side of t_he subject property, and ~
accesses Vernal Road, which in turn accesses Highway 550 South. A portion of the haul road from phase II will traverse
' phase III and similar activities will occur prior to^actual extraction ~
of gravel occurs. ~w4i~
Gravel extraction will commence in phase III at the conclusion of mining
' in phase I and/or phase II. At this point in time, the gravel deposit
will be mined with extraction commencing at the north end of phase III
and proceeding southward. The excavation of phase III will result in a ~
' ~"day lighting" effect in that the elevation affected area will
correspond with the area below the terrace, as depicted on the
Reclamation Plan Map.
' Prior to the extraction of the gravel deposit in this area, an
irrigation ditch_ that runs from south to north along the property line
of t e two owne=s, will be relocated The ditch will be rerouted along
t the southern boundary of the original permitted area and along the
perimeter of the west and north sides of the property and returned to
the north east portion of the area depicted as phase I. The ditch will
' be tied back to the point where it exits the subject property and enters
property owned by Henry Becker ( please refer to the Reclamation Plan
Map).
1

4 ~~ 1 i~f/~v T ~
1
~` _ ( l ~J.~,( ~
-~.Cfl- '~ ~f+W- ~
