' MINING PLA N

' The property that is the subject of this
(112) Operation consists of 32.8 acres, application to amend a Regular
which i ffected
land of the original permit (M- 94-005), and an tional 48.9 ac of ~
effected land for a total of 81.7 acres of affected land out of 119.
' o a acres in two parcels of property.
The additional affected area is adjacent to the original permitted area
' on the east side. All of the area that is to be mined is situated on
the same terrace as the original permitted area.
' The depth of excavation will remain to be 25 feet to 30 feet below
original elevations.
It is the intention of the applicant that the operation will be
' separated into five separate and distinct phases for the purposes of
mining, reclamation and posting of financia- 1 warranty. Q~,[~j~'
--- -
' The operations and relative time line of each phase is described in the
following narrative.
Based on a Geologic Evaluation conducted for the original a ication ~
' for permit number M-94-005, no excavation will occur with 30 feet of
any significant, valuable or man-made structure.
~ Phase I is essentiall the original mining plan for M-94-005, including
' thethe or3 g~1 p an for the extraction of grave processing of graded
aggregates, production of hot-mixed asphalt, and related activities
' previously identified.
Mining has commenced, as planned, in the north-west section of the area
and has proceeded in a south-easterly direction. The haul road has been
constructed along the northern permit boundary and will serve as the
primary access route through ~ the subsequent mining phases.

1
1
1
1

The mining plan for the area covered under the original permit is
altered in that the eastern portion of the property will be mined
through to the adjacent property. This change is addressed in the
description of the mining plan for phase three. ~ ~I ~
Phase II, consisting of 8.1 acres, lies east of phase I~and is at the
northern end of the amendment area.
It is expected that mining operations in phase II will occur
concurrently with phase I in that the area will be affected by gravel
extraction, crushing and stockpiling during much of the same time frame
as similar mining operations are conducted in phase I.
The initial activity to occur in phase II is that the topsoil will be
removed from the area to be mined and placed in storage outside of the
mining area in phase Ii, as indicated on the Mining Plan Map.
3
