be tested at the required internal pressure for a minimum of three (3) hours after the
pressure in the pipe has stabilized. The duration of the expansion phase and pressure
dissipation phases shall be consistent with the manufacturer's recommendations. The
pipeline shall be inspected for leaks. In the event that leaks aze found, the pressure
shall be allowed to dissipate and the water removed prior to making the necessazy
repairs. The pipeline shall be retested until a passing test is achieved prior to placing
fill over the pipe.
Finished Grading and Reve etg anon
All surface land disturbances created during pipeline installation shall be reclaimed.
Reclamation shall include the backfilling of the excavated trench to blend with the
adjoining upgradient and downgradient topography. The recontoured trench will be
seeded with the CDMG approved seed mixture following backfill and contouring
activities.
G.3 Site-Wide Monitoring
The current water monitoring program for the San Luis Mine is outlined in Technical
Revision 32, Table 1-4. The two principal azeas of water monitoring at the San Luis
Mine aze: (1) the West Pit azea (includes both surface and ground water monitoring),
and (2) the tailings disposal azea (TDA). As specified in the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Boazd regulations, "An operator is allowed to request a release of
reclamation responsibility any time the operator determines that the reclamation
requirements have been completed: [C.R.S. 34-32-117(5.5) and Rule 3.1.7(8)].
According to conditions and calculations presented in Technical Revision 15, water
monitoring associated with the TDA would continue for a period of 9 yeazs following
cessation of tailings deposition or through the yeaz 2006. The time frame for water
monitoring at the TDA was based on detailed hydrologic analysis of reasonable and
probable travel times for ground water under a condition of TDA liner leakage.
• Based on the water monitoring conducted in the vicinity of the TDA, BMRI requests
Battle Mountain Resources, /nc.
