Documentation of construction activities and quality assurance testing shall be
recorded in an as-built report prepared by the Professional Engineer. Documentation
shall include obtaining survey and QA information of sufficient detail to prepare as-
built drawings of the constructed works. Documentation will also include
photographs of key construction activities and critical items.
Design modifications due to unanticipated site and subsurface conditions, may
become necessary, and may range in significance. If modifications to the designs
become necessary, they shall be discussed with BMRI and the Professional Engineer.
Significant design modifications (in the opinion of the Professional Engineer) must be
approved by the Professional Engineer, who will provide written notification to
BMRI. Design modifications will be documented in the as-built construction report.
Irrigation Pond
Detailed geotechnical investigations are underway to evaluate foundation conditions
• in the irrigation pond area and to identify suitable borrow source materials for
construction of the compacted soil liner. The results of these investigations will be
presented to DMG when available. The results may affect the procedures and
materials used in irrigation pond construction and could result in modifications to the
QA/QC plan described in the following subsections.
Site Prepazation
Site preparation in the irrigation pond area will consist of topsoil stripping. Topsoil
stripping will also be performed over the pond and diversion berm footprint, and in
the borrow azea (if required) and topsoil stockpiled for use on pond and diversion
berm outslopes, and borrow area reclamation. The depth of stripping will be based
upon the thickness of suitable topsoil. Water may be added to the excavation area if
the soils are dry and stripping work is generating excessive dust.
Gradine
Battle Mountain Resources, /nc.
