3.1.7 Groundwater -Specific Requirements.
This operation will have no affect on groundwater or bring any other water permit r~uirements into
play, except for the Water Quality Control Division Stormwa[er Dischazge Permit, ~•d this does not
deal with groundwater.
3.1.8 Wildlife
(1) The operator will consider the safety and protection of wildlife on site - if
No described critical species or periods aze known for this site. There is an abunda~rce of the same
type habitat in this azea.
(2) Habitat Management enhancement is not part of the reclamation plan for this rojec[. It does
not appeaz that there aze any unique opportunities to enhance the vast amount o habitat already
available in this open azea.
3.1.9 Topsoiling
(1) Topsoil or growth media will be segregated to help prevent deterioration and er sion. It will be
stockpiled on the pit perimeters. If it is to remain in stockpile for more than one rowing season,
7#/A of Western wheatgrass will be seeded so that the topsoil or growth media is protected from
erosion, remains free of any contamination by toxic or acid-forming material (none f which aze on
the site) and in a suitable condition for reclamation.
(2) There is no woody vegetation on the mining site to be affected.
(3) The topsoil or growth media will be stockpiled on the perimeters of the pit aze and located so
as to be undisturbed by ongoing mining operations. These stockpiles have been ncluded in the
affected area and will be reclaimed as part of the plan.
(4) The operator finds that it is better operationally to move topsoil only once. There is less
degeneration of the material, as well as being more economical. Topsoil or growl media in this
operation will be handled only once.
(5) This plan is designed to leave a level pit floor and stable backslopes, whic~ preclude any
slippage. There will be no backfilled surfaces to be compacted or scazified. There w 11 be no heavy-
textured spoil surfaces on this site.
(6) The operator believes that the topsoil or growth media on site is of suffici nt quality for
revegetation at least equal [o that before mining. There are no more suitabl materials for
revegetation in site.
