Phase IVc Summary No. 7 Page 2 043-2170 Ames hauled, placed, and compacted Soil Liner Fill (SLF) material into the Phase IVc OSA in the • central portion of the VLF. SLF material was conditioned, reworked, and maintained prior to SLF surface acceptance and testing. Ames continued production of bentonite-amended SLF at the screen and pug mill plant located above the Ames materials yazd. Ames continued to produce Drain Cover Fill (DCF) material at the screen plant located neaz the secondary crusher. Poly-Flex demobilized from the site June 20, and returned June 24 to continue work. No geomembrane panels were deployed or seamed during this reporting period. Poly-Flex continued repair and testing of previously deployed and seamed panels from the prior week. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam samples DXc-11 through DXc-13 were mazked and removed. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam peel and shear tests on 80-mil single-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane samples DFc-076 through DFc-085, DFc-092, DXc-11 and DXc-13 were tested during this reporting period and passed per project specifications. Extrusion destructive sample DXc-12 initially failed testing and two additional samples were taken along the failed seam length. The two additional samples (DXc-12P and DXc-12N) passed per project specification, and the failed seam length was capped and non-destructively tested. Ames continued placement and grading of DCF material into the Phase IVc OSA, in the western portion of the VLF on Chickenhawk Hill and onto the Saddle FIll azea. Ames placed DCF material onto approved geomembrane panels and High Volume Solution Collection (HVSC) piping per the project plans. • A map of the azea worked during this reporting period is provided in Attachment B. Field Monitorine and Testin¢ Activities Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase IVc earthworks. All construction materials and soil materials placed were verified as suitable, and construction methods were in accordance with project specifications. Golder observed excavation and construction of SU for trench dimensions, slope, and materials used. Golder observed excavation and construction of the LDT in Phase IVc for trench dimensions, slope, and materials used. Golder observed construction of the geogrid remediation for underground working UG-297 for dimension, slope, and materials used in accordance with the project plans. Golder observed placement, compaction, and moisture conditioning of SLF in the Phase IVc OSA for subgrade preparation, thickness, compaction, moisture content, and materials. No nuclear moisture-density tests were performed during this reporting period. SLF hauled and placed during this reporting period was too wet to test or approve for geomembrane deployment. Golder observed seam testing (trial seams, pressure, vacuum and destructive) of previously deployed • geomembrane. Geomembrane tested in the Phase IVc OSA met the project specifications.
