• Area 5b (Test Mine) consists of 25 acres, of which 2 acres are roads to
be stabilized using dust suppressants during 1982 - 1984. The other 23
acres are talus slopes and mine waste rock associated with the Pilot Mine
that require no further stabilization or revegetation.
Area 6 - Mine Bench
Area 6a (A-Groove Road) consists of 4 acres of roads that will be stabilized
using dust suppressants as necessary during the 1982 - 1984 period.
Area 6b (Mine Bench) consists of 52 acres including 25 acres of rock
cliffs or mine bench face. No further stabilization or revegetation is
planned for these areas. The remaining 27 acres includes the surface of
• the mine bench and the crusher pit, for which no additional construction
is required during this period.
Area 7 (Upper Middle Fork)
Area 7 covers 77 acres that are associated with the construction of the
Middle Fork Dam. No revegetation work is planned for the 1982 - 1984
period while the dam is under construction. Revegetation will commence
in 1985, including the reconstruction of the Middle Fork Stream channel
above the pool. (See also discussion in Exhibit G, regarding the effects
of constructing a smaller Middle Fork Dam) on water issues.
