• constitutes 5 acres, will be stabilized using dust suppressants as neces-
sary during the 1982 - 1984 period. The remaining 4 acres serve as the
site for offices and shop facilities, and those facilities will remain in
service.
Area 5 - Tosco Flats
Area 5a (Access Road - Trailers to Old Retort) covers 20 acres, including
10 acres that are to be permanently revegetated during 1982. Topsoil
available from construction of the Valley Access Road has been respread
on 8 of the 10 acres. This area is nearly flat lying except for the 2
acres of 4:1 slopes on the reconstructed stream channel. Four acres of
road will be stabilized using dust suppressants as necessary during the
• 1982 - 1984 period.
The remaining 6 acres are the site of the Semi-Works Plant, associated
facilities, and a maintenance shop. The final surface configuration of
the Semiworks area, at least in this interim period, depends on timing of
the removal of the existing Semi-Works and the results of an engineering
study that addresses alternatives for resloping the spoil pile at the
base of Davis Gulch. The source of material for regrading will be the
excess fill currently existing in Area 19b (See also discussion in Exhibit
G.2.3 regarding stream hydrology in this area). There will be extensive
water channel work associated with the site but the details have not
yet been developed.
•
