David Berry
July 9, 1990
Page 6
MLRD CONCERN:
Page (Existinq) 2.05-164
1. Our copy of page 2.05-164 is
1/30/87). The page 2.05-164
appears that something which
Please check your copies.
appreciated.
preceded by page 2.05-163(a) (Revised
starts in mid-sentence. Theref e, it
should precede the page is m~sing.
Your help in resolving this will be
RESPONSE:
Pages 2.05-161 through -163 were revised with Minor Revision 92-10
(Hydrologic Monitoring Plan). The inconsistency has been corrected and the
pages are included for your reference. Additionally, page 2.05-162 has been
updated to reflect the change in the NPDES Permit Number for Pond M3N.
MLRD CONCERN:
Page (existing) 2.05-166
1. Paragraph two of this page indicates that overburden dewatering is not
expected. In fact, some local drawdown did occur.
RESPONSE:
Two wells in the Wadge Overburden (which includes the Wadge Coal) have been
monitored since 1979. Data from these wells seem to indicate some impact on
water levels from mining. The water levels have been rising from 1980 to
1985, probably due to cessation of mining in the vicinity of the wells in
1979 or 1980. Due to the wells proximity to Foidel Creek, this trend may be
the result of a long-term climatological trend. The data indicates that the
water level in the Wadge overburden varies seasonally: water levels in the
summer are usually higher than in the winter. Page 2.05-166 (enclosed) has
been revised to reflect this information.
MLRD CONCERN:
Page (Existinq) 2.06-40
1. This page indicates that neutron probes are used to monitor the local
alluvial valley floors. It is our understanding that this is no longer
true. Please revise the page accordingly.
RESPONSE:
The page has been revised to reflect current monitoring conditions, and is
enclosed.
MLRD CONCERN:
Page (Existinq 2.06-41)
1. The second paragraph of this page discusses collection of agricultural
production data. Did this pertain to previously completed alluvial
valley floor determinations? Please revise this page to reflect the
current situation.
