Ron Roberts- Proieci bfanaser
RE: CO`I'TA]Yi :VtEil"T LLYER E~'TENSIOiv
Dear Ron:
Our Ref.: 003-2203
Golder Associates Inc. (Golder) has prepared this letter for the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining
Company (CC&V) presenting the plan layout, sections, and details for the Containment Liner
Extension adjacent to the ADR plant The Containment Liner Extension is located west of the
existing ADR building and south of the Phase I Valley Leach Facility (VI,F). The purpose of the
extension is to provide additional hydraulic secondary containment within the ADR azea.
The following sections present the basic design and technical specifications for the Containment
Liner Extension. Drawings showing the plan layout, sections, and details are included in
Attachment A.
CONS'AIi t'19E~1'T LLVER EXTEVSIOY DESIGiY
The Containment Liner Extension was designed using the following design criteria:
• Liner System -composite liner system consisting of:
Primary Liner: 80 mil LLDPE geomembrane. Since the liner system will not
be used for ore storage, either smooth or single-sided textured (textured side
down) can be used. If available, 100 tail LLDPE may be used for the liner,
and
o Soil Liner Fill: 12-inches thick.
• Maximum Regrade Slopes: 2.0 Horizontal (II): 1 Vertical (V).
The liner extension design is presented in Drawings 1 and ?, and consists of extending the existing
liner in the ADR azea to the south and west to provide additional containment in the ADR yazd. The
ADR yazd will be graded to assare drainage toward the Phase I pad, as shown in the grading play In
addition, the liner extension will continue to the west as a wrap-azound extension to the Phase I edge
of liner. The area between the Phase I ore slope and liner extension will form a lined channel that
will route any solution from the ADR to the west containment berm.
Golder
c ASSO(~2f~S
The existing Phase I Iner consists of 80 mil VLDPE geomembrane. The liner extension will be
constructed by extrusion welding either the 80 or 100 mil LLDPE geomembrane to the 80 mil
VL,DPE geomembrane.
