WAD cyanide will be <br />analyzed using ASTM Method "C", or APHA/AWWA "standard Methods", <br />Method I, page 4-38. Methods for the analysis of copper, zinc, <br />iron, calcium and sodium are the same as those given in Section <br />' S.2. <br />' 6.3.2 Total Cyanide Analysis Only: If there is sufficient sample for <br />cyanide analysis only, total cyanide will be determined based on <br />using either of the approved USEPA methods: Method 335.2, the <br />' manual method; or Method 335.3, the autoanalyzer method. However, <br />the potential matrix effects suggest that the manual method, Method <br />' 335.2, is preferred if sufficient volume of sample is obtained. <br />' In practice, the analytical laboratory will use the more rigorous <br />procedures with respect to analysis of standards, calibration <br />procedures and other QA/QC issues consistent with USEPA total <br />cyanide Method 9010 (manual) and Method 9012 (autoanalyzer), given <br />in Appendix G. <br />Specifically, all calibration samples will be processed through the <br />' entire analytical procedure to attempt to compensate for sample <br />matrix effects and the potential presence of reduced sulphur <br />species in the porous cup lysimeter samples.
