NCIG should insert a reference here to the <br />effect that the Special Use Permit has expired. <br />Section 3.3 Hydrology and Geology <br />11) Page 3-21, Paragraph 1 states that groundwater monitoring <br />began in 1981 and 1989. NCIG should update this sentence <br />to reflect the entire period of groundwater monitoring. <br />12) Section 3.3.4.2, Groundwater Monitoring System should be <br />updated to reflect changes that may occur to the <br />gY~oundwater monitoring system as a result of the <br />impending reclamation of the site. For example, <br />monitoring wells that will be abandoned during the <br />reclamation should be removed from the monitoring system. <br />13) Section 3.3.4.5, Water Quality: Please update Appendices <br />3.3-6 and 3.3-7 (water quality analyses) and Appendix <br />3.3-9 (plots of temperature, TDS, and conductivity vs. <br />time for groundwater monitoring wells). <br />14) Section 3.3.4.9, Proposed Monitoring Plan, Page 3-36, 1st <br />Paragraph: The commitment to drill monitoring wells into <br />the Rollins Sandstone from within the mine should be <br />removed in order to reflect the fact that mining will not <br />be done at the site. <br />15) Page 3-36, 3rd Paragraph: Please update the reference to <br />groundwater monitoring in the alluvium/colluvium to <br />reflect the upcoming reclamation if groundwater <br />monitoring will be affected. For example, the removal of <br />monitoring wells, if planned, should be mentioned. <br />16) Section 3.3.6 Affected Watersheds, Page 3.39, 1st <br />Paragraph: Please update references to surface <br />facilities. <br />17) Section 3.3.7 Site Surface Hydrology: Please update <br />discussions of the monitoring program (including text and <br />tables) if applicable. <br />18) Figures 3.3-9, 3.3-10, 3.3-11, 3.3-13, 3.3-14, and 3.3-15 <br />(Hydrographs of wells OW-2, OW-3, OW-4, OW-4L, OW-8 and <br />OW-14, respectively) should be updated to include current <br />data. <br />19) Figures 3.3-17 and 3.3-18 (Alkali Creek and Colorado <br />River TDS and Mg concentrations vs. time, respectively) <br />should be updated to include current data. <br />6 <br />
