216 <br />' ~ 1 compiling the historic records of use through <br />i <br />2 <br />talking with the irrigators of the ranch, using <br /> 3 aerial photographs to establish what crops or what <br /> 4 areas were irrigated, using any records that we had <br /> 5 available to us to evaluate how much water had been <br /> 6 used on the ranch in the past, and that involves <br /> 7 coming up with the total water that was applied to <br />' 8 the crop, the consumptive use of the crop, plus <br /> 9 other consumptive uses such as evaporation, spray <br /> l0 loss from sprinklers, et cetera. And then the <br />1 11 difference between the consumptive use and the total <br /> 12 use is the return flow. <br />' 13 So, based on that analysis, we came up <br /> 14 with a value for consumptive use that has <br /> 15 historically been depleted and is still being <br /> 16 depleted on the ranch for irrigation purposes.
