r ~
L_J
r~
LJ
the gravel access road that has been constructed across the easement on Teddy Graff s Property at
the southeast corner of the new permit boundary and onto 1800 Road as shown on Exhibit C-2,
Mine Plan Map. 'This road will be paved in the summer of 2007. Traffic will then travel south on
1800 Road and cross the train tracks to Highway 92, where truck traffic may go either direction.
United Companies is currently working with Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and the Colorado
Department of Transportation (CDOT) to construct an automated railroad crossing on 1800 Road
and acceleration and deceleration lanes on State Highway 92 (SH 92). The current intersection of
1800 Road and SH 92 is limited to a total of thirty round trips per hour.
Incoming (empty) trucks will return by the same route in addition to eight empty trucks per hour
being able to return from the east by using Homestead Road. Once the acceleration and
deceleration lanes are installed on SH 92, all returning truck traffic will utilize SH 92 and 1800
Road.
1675 Road will not be used for gravel hauling operations. No new impacts to county services will
occur. The long term effect of the operation will be beneficial to the environment by providing
wetlands and improving the existing vegetation.
Anderson Pit, April 07
D-12
