the Redi-Mix Plant office. The portable crusher and asphalt plant that will be on site from time
• to time each have their own SPCC Plan.
It is extremely unlikely that any toxic or acid-producing materials will be encountered during the
mining operation since the past mining shows that the material is alluvial in nature. However, in
the event that such materials aze encountered, they will be covered with overburden and topsoil
from the stockpiles to the same depths outlined in the reclamation plan and no more mining will
occur in this area.
The operator commits to cleazly mazking the permit boundary with stakes surveyed on site.
The site will use all existing roads to haul the product to its final destination. It is planned that
the material may be used to re-surface existing roads, make concrete aggregate or provide new
road base for any new roads within an economic distance to the site.
4. Topsoil and Overburden Handling
• Initial topsoil stripping for the Anderson Pit has occurred in Phase 1 and along the mining road
from Phase 1 to the Redi-Mix plant. Overburden has been stripped from Phase 1 as well. The
topsoil has been stockpiled in a berm along the western permit boundary. The overburden has
been stockpiled in a berm along the northern permit boundary east of the on-hundred foot buffer
between the mining operation and the Hutchins residence neaz the northwest corner of the permit
azea. As additional topsoil is stripped from the site, it will be stockpiled in berms along the west
and east permit boundaries as shown on Map C-2, Mine Plan Map. The topsoil berm along the
east side of the permit azea will be constructed to shield the adjacent landowner, Henry Bellew,
from having to view the mining operation. This berm will be approximately five-hundred feet
long and ten feet high with side slopes of 2H:1 V. The topsoil stockpiles will be temporarily
seeded with a dryland pasture mix within 2 months of stockpiling. Additional overburden
stripped from Phase 1 will be stored in a stockpile to the south until sufficient area has been
mined to allow for concurrent reclamation to begin. Table D-6 shows the approximate topsoil
and overburden quantities in each phase.
Anderson Pit, April 07 D-9
