• 2.2.2 Site Preparation, Earthwork, and Construction
Site work for the conveyor system will begin in the spring of 1998 following
receipt of all permits and approvals and as soon as access is possible. Work will
start with the PC2/PC3 conveyor house structure and proceed north along the
PC3 corridor and ROW to the mill. This construction scenario will allow
construction of the transfer station and the avalanche shed to begin early in the
construction season so they can be completed prior to the onset of winter. The
entire PC3 Conveyor ROW development (site clearing and preparation and
earthwork) and associated concrete work also will be completed during the 1998
season. Installation of equipment in the transfer station will carry into the winter
months of 1998-99. Equipment will be stored offsite and transferred to the site
as required.
The 1998 goal will be to have all components of the transfer station installed, the
• PC3 ROW prepared and developed, and the PC3/SC1 transfer station at the mill
completed to the degree possible without interfering with the operation of the
existing mill conveyor. Installation and precommissionings of the drives for the
PC2 and PC3 conveyors will be completed during the fall of 1998 and the winter
of 1998-99.
All remaining work aboveground will be completed in 1999. This work will
include commissioning of the drives in the transfer station, installation of the PC3
tables, installation of the conveyor belt, and complete commissioning of the PC3
Conveyor. Presently, the PC3 Conveyor is scheduled to be running before final
Henderson 2000 shutdown in August 1999. Any site-specific reclamation work
along the conveyor route not completed in 1998 will be completed in 1999;
including, but not limited to topsoil stockpiling, erosion control and stabilization,
and seeding of disturbances such as cut and fill slopes as discussed in the
• Reclamation Plan in Section 3.0.
pEpie
9
January 16.1996
Plam.
