site. The entrance to the pit is in good condition and will not require any improvements with this
amendment.
Explosives will not be used in conjunction with this operation.
2. Mining_Timetable
The following timetable is a best estimate of the sequence of operations for the life of the mine
after February 2006 and is based on mining and selling 300,000 tons of total product per yeaz:
Table D-4: Mine Life by Task
Task # Description Time Needed Months
1 Move plants and facilities 0.5
2 Mine Phase 1. 9.6
3 Reclaim Phase 1, and mine Phase 2. 34.8
4 Reclaim Phase 2, and mine Phase 3. 26.4
5 Reclaim Phase 3, and mine Phase 4. 28.8
6 Reclaim Phase 4, and mine Phase 5 19.2
7 Reclaim Phase 5 3.0
Total months 122.3
The mining schedule is planned to minimize disturbance by reclaiming areas as additional
mining is undertaken. Note: If lazge contracts aze awazded to the site, production could increase
far above the expected annual average, thereby curtailing the life of the pit. On the other hand, if
contracts aze less than anticipated, the life of the pit could be extended. This table is based on a
reasonable projection of average production rates.
3. Mine Facilities and Operation
The site will contain the following Facilities; it is noted where applicable whether or not the
facility is portable and whether it will have any fuel storage associated with it. Table D-8 below
shows a summary of the tanks which will be present onsite as well as give a summary of the
secondary containment used with each tank.
Colona Pit November 06 D-7
