STAGING AREA - 36.0 acres vnthin the permit boundary is designated as a staging area and is also <br />designated: Phase 1 Several activities ancillary to the mlrnng operation occur within thegrave{ed surfaced area <br />The dominate use in the staging area is the stockpiling of raw and processed resource. In addition to asphalt <br />and concrete production plants, the following activities may occur within the staging area: <br />^ Truck Scale <br />^ Portable Office. <br />^ Fuel Storage. <br />^ Equipment Parking end Melntenance. <br />^ Resource Stockpiling <br />^ Lab and Tool Trailer Parking. <br />O Seasonal Watchman's Residence (self contained Rte. <br />PETROLEUM STORAGE AREAS - A portable asphalt oil tank and diesel fuel tanks are located adjacent to the <br />asphalt plant when A 5 present on site. Also, portable diesel fuel tanks will be located near the gravel crushing <br />unit, wash plant, and concrote plant. All fuel a stored in above ground tanks and will have secondary <br />containment to provent any discharges of lust from leaving the sde or percolatirtg Into the ground. Containment <br />Is constructed ur a fashion to control at toast 110 percent of the volume of the largest fuel storage vessel within <br />the containment area. A Handling and Dispose! of Petroleum Products Polley has been established A key <br />element of the policy includes annual training for all workers at the taality for spill containment and controls in <br />the event that a spill should occur. Additionally, a Spll Response Conter Is located near the office area.
