Phase IVb Weekly Summary No. 1? Pase 2 003-2203 Ames hauled, placed, and compacted Bedding Fill (BF) material onto the east ore inboard slope in the Phase IVb PSSA area. Ames continued Drain Cover Fill (DCF) removal near the Phase I / IVa l IVb tie-in azeas. Ames continued production of DCF at the screen plant located neaz the secondary crusher. Ames hauled and placed DCF onto the Phase Nb PSSA upper geomembrane, in areas above the High Volume Solution Collection System (HVSCS) piping and in areas of the haul road construction, west and north within the PSSA. Ames fusion welded and placed the HVSCS 26-inch piping on the west Phase IVb PSSA upper geomembrane floor. Ames also placed HVSCS piping within the PSSA followed by DCF placement per project plans. Ames constructed approximately 100 feet of Primary Underdrain on the south slope of Substation Hill in the Phase Nb area. Ames placed and graded Low Volume So]ution Collection Fill (LVSCF) on the Phase Nb PSSA lower geomembrane prior to upper geomembrane deployment. During placement to the south of the Phase TVb PSSA sump, approximately 350 feet of Low Volume Solution Collection System (LVSCS) 4-inch piping was not placed on the floor of the PSSA. Ames addressed the concern by notifying CC&V Projects Department, and issued RFI #103. Golder reviewed the design of the area in which the pipe was to be located and detemuned that the LVSCS would meet project specification without the 4-inch pipe. This will be addressed further in a subsequent Golder letter. Ames re-compacted areas of the LVSCF in the PSSA sump riser foundations and de-watered where material was flooded by rainfall. Poly-Flex continued deployment of 100-mil double-sided smooth (upper) LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase IVb PSSA. Poly-Flex deployed 100-mil smooth LLDPE geomembrane over an azea of approximately 200,378 square feet in the Phase Nb PSSA during this reporting period. Geomembrane panels U-272 through U-333 was deployed, seamed, and pressure tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive fusion seam samples DFu-82 through DFu-103 were marked and removed. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam peel and shear tests of samples DFu-80 through DFu-103 were performed and passed per project specifications. Poly-Flex began deployment of 100-mil double-sided textured (upper) LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase IVb PSSA. Poly-Flex deployed 100-mil double-sided textured LLDPE geomembrane over an area of approximately 47,506 square feet in the Plrase iVb PSSA during this reporting period. Geomembrane panels U-334 through U-354 were deployed, seamed, and pressure tested by Poly-Flex. Destructive fusion seam samples DFu-104 through DFu-107 were marked and removed. Destructive fusion and extrusion seam peel and sheaz tests of these samples were not performed during this reporting period. Poly-Flex resumed and completed deployment of 100-mil double-sided smooth (lower) LLDPE geomembrane in the Phase Nb PSSA. Poly-flex deployed 100-mil smooth LLDPE geomembrane over an azea of approximately 27,509 square feet in the Phase IVb PSSA during this reporting period.
