Division of Minerals and Geology
March 31, 2003
Item No. 5
DMG: Your reclamation plan map in the area where Bear Creek leaves the affected land area
(shown by extraction "cut"boundary lines) shows contour lines outside that boundary differing
from the existing topography. This topographic change indicates that the land will be disturbed.
The mining plan map does not show that the land is proposed to be affected. Please explain this
discrepancy. Change your mining plan and or reclamation plan map as necessary.
Response:
The mine plan consists of "Cuts" 1 through 22. All mining will be conducted within the
constraints of the outside boundaries of these cuts, as shown on Figures C-2. The areas to be
reclaimed are as indicated on Figure F-1, Reclamation Plan Map. It is true that the reclaimed
acreage is larger than the areas of limestone extraction. This is due to the presence of the mined
out area in the northwest corner of the property, as well as the need to regrade certain areas to
conform to the maximum slope requirement (3:1) of this permit. A summary of mined and
reclaimed acreages is as follows:
Area
Descripfion
(acres)
Cut 1 28

~ Cuts 2-18 593

~ Cuts 19-22 111
,:;
Relocated Bear Creek
outside of ua foo rirtt 20
m
Cut 1 Area 137
°- Cuts 2-18 593

Area Between Cut 1 & Cuts 2-18 39

a' Cuts 19-22 Area 184
Plant Area 63
Exhibit D-Mininfr Plan
Item No. 6
DMG: Your Exhibit D includes three identical statements of "CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
provided under separate cover ".
