RECLAMATION PLAN
Requirement: Topsoiling will utilize soils removed from this site prior to mining.
(See Page 13)
Requirement: Grading of the side slopes of the Phase 1 backfilled area (those slopes leading
from the original land around the pit down to the backfilled portion) will be graded to a
slope not steeper than 5:1. This will provide for a smooth transition between the drier
adjacent -and and the more moist backfill. (No discussion associated with this requirement)
Revegetation -
Requirement: The following seed mixture will be applied to the plant site if development
is not imminent upon completion of the operation. (See page 14 for seed mixture)
Requirement: No planting of completed sediment basins will occur for two growing
seasons during which time weed control (mainly for Tamarix) will be implemented and
invasion of cottonwood and willow can occur. (See Page 14)
Requirement: If, after two years, invasion is inadequate or invasion plants were mostly
killed to control weeds then cottonwoods will be planted at the rate of 100 to 150 bare root
seedlings per acre. (See Page I S)
Requirement: Willows, if planted, will utilize cuttings from adjacent native vegetation.
(See Page /5)
Requirement: In wet locations in Phase 1 (including land east of the large drainage ditch)
emergent wetland will be established through either invasion or planting. If invasion is
inadequate seeding will occur by collecting seed from nearby wetlands and spreading the
seed over suitable sites within the affected land of Phase 1. (See Page 16)
Requirement: Slopes above the reservoir high water line and the 5:1 slopes around the
backfilled portion of Phase 1 will be planted with the following seed mixture.
