The picnic area will contain 4 individual picnic sites 18
feet in length by 24 feet in width with compacted gravel
surface suitable for all weather use. Each such site will
be equipped with a standard picnic table and charcoal grill.
Unsurfaced areas in this site will be topsoiled to a depth ,
i of at least 12 inches, graded, fertilized and seeded accord-
ing to recommendations of the U.S. Soil Conservation Service
as contained in Exhibits I and J, following. Tree planting
in this area will be in accordance with recommendations of
': the Lorimer County Forester (with whom initial contact has
been made), and the U.S. Soil Conservation Service as con- '
rained in Exhibits I and J, following.
The lake will be located and generally configured as shown
' on the Reclamation Plan Maps (Revised), Exhibit F. Average
depth of this lake will be about 20 feet, and slope of its
banks will be 5H:1V, or gentler, throughout. Topsoiling to
a depth of at least 12 inches, fertilizing, and seeding re-
commended by th~a U.S. Soil Conservation Service will be
carried to the high water line; side slopes of the lake be-
low its high water line will be surfaced using the sandy
loam overburden removed during extraction operations. Lake
will be used for fishing, attd will be suitably stocked with I
fish in accordance with recommendations of the Colorado State
Division of Wildlife.
Grading, topsoiling to a depth of at least 12 inches, fertiliz-
ing, and seeding the remainder of the project area will be in ,
accordance with recommenations of the U. S. Soil Conservation
Service as contained in Exhibits I and J, following. Drain-
age from reclaimed area will continue to clear the site
through appurtenances located in the Southeast Corner of
the project as they existed prior tq commencement of mining
operations.
There will initially be no public access to this site until
reclamation seeding and planting has had opportunity to be-
come firmly established, and fish stockage in the lake has
been accomplished. Thereafter, controlled access by the
public will be permitted on a "first-come first served"
basis; control c;•ill be exercised to the extent required to
insure that no sore people than the area can accommodate
will be permitted entry at any one time.
2. TREE AND SHRUB PLANTING:
Tha plan for tree and shrub planting as part of reclamation
in the mined area involves 3 basic aspects. These are the
shelter belt, and the picnic area, and the Lake.
