The Shelter Belt: <br /> This consists of a 3 row buffer/windbreak about <br /> • 1,000 feet long around the Westerly portion of <br /> the landscaped area as shown on Exhibit .F, Reclama- <br /> tion Plan Map (Revised), Tree and Shrub Planting. <br /> The 3 rows in this belt are spaced about 16 feet <br /> apart t•~ minimize competition of the plants for <br /> moisture and nutrients, and to provide sufficient <br /> room for use of machinery for cultivation. The <br /> 3 rows consist of a Shrub Row, a Deciduous Row ; <br /> and a Conifer Row as shown on Exhibit F, Reclama- <br /> tion Plan Map (Revised), Tree and Shrub Planting. <br /> (1) Shrub Row: <br /> Species in the shrub row will consist of in- <br /> terspersed Caragana, Lilac, Plum, Nanking <br /> Cherry, and Rocky Mountain Juniper. Plants <br /> will be spaced in the row at a distance of 4 <br /> to 6 feet depending, upon species. <br /> (2) Deciduous Raw: <br /> Species in the deciduous row will consist of <br /> in~erspersed Russian Olive, HoneylocusC, Ash, <br /> and Hackberry. Plants will be spaced in the <br /> row at a distance of 10 to 14 feet depending <br /> upon species. • <br /> (3) Conifer Row: • <br /> Species in the conifer row will consist of <br /> Colorado Blue Spruce, Ponderosa Pine and <br /> Eastern Red Cedar. Plants will be spaced in <br /> the row at a distance of 8 to 12 feet depend- <br /> ing upon species. <br /> b. The Picnic Area: <br /> About 22 trees will be planted in this area to pro- <br /> vide shade and shelter in and around the 4 picnic <br /> sites. 11 of these will be deciduous species con- <br /> sisting of Hackberry, Ash, and Honeylocust; the <br /> other 11 will be conifers consisting of Colorado <br /> Blue Spruce and Ponderosa Pine. The trees have <br /> been located close to each picnic site to maximize <br /> shade and shelter. <br /> <br />
