EXHIBIT J
Vegetation Information
The vegetation information found in the subsequent amendments to the permit is still valid.
Most of the vegetation discussed in the original application within the proposed permit boundary
has been disturbed by existing mining operations and was disturbed by overgrazing before the
mining operation. Vegetation undisturbed by the current mining operations is sparse and is
mainly composed of native grasses and weeds. The current dominant vegetation is saltgrass.
Trees and shrubs consisting of cottonwoods and willows are mainly found in the areas next to the
river. Trees, shrubs, grasses and forbs account for less than 1% of the plant cover at this site.
Trees and shrubs will not be disturbed by the mining operation
~-
b~~* ae ® °-'~
SEP 2 1 2000
Dici;:on of Reclama:i~q
Weld County H°kestra Pit
OMG 1 /2 Permit Amendment
Page 19
